The version 1.2.2 update for SLARPG is now live! This is a small but important one.
As always, Steam players will get this automatically, while itch players can download the new build from the store page. Common technical issues are also addressed via the FAQ on our website.
Hello SLARPG devs. I recently bought and played the game and I enjoyed it a lot! However, when I recommended it to people I know, one of them had a criticism.
A friend of mine said it was put off from playing SLARPG due to Paula being the only stone butch character and being a main villain. Apparently its friend group also saw Javis as being transmasc which added to them seeing the game as spreading harmful stereotypes about masculinity in queer spaces and exclusion of transmasc/non-femme people from ostensibly trans-friendly places.
I mostly just wanted to bring this to your attention as a possible aspect to look at in future stories you tell in this world? I don't mean to demand a response or apology or anything, I just felt like I should let you know since I enjoyed your game so much and want other people to enjoy your projects.
Thank you for reading this regardless.
Hi! I’m not really sure where these readings come from. I would understand the concern if Paula really was the only butch character, but there are other characters in the game who are butch to varying degrees such as Jodie, Allison, and Rhett who aren’t antagonists
I also have absolutely no idea what could cause someone to view Javis as transmasc. His gender is never commented on. He is just a video tape wizard. If Javis was the only male character in the game I could perhaps understand the concern over masculinity being presented as unwelcome, but again, there are plenty of NPCs throughout the game who are male and are friendly with the party
I don’t believe that we’re above criticism and I’m welcome to feedback, but this really just sounds like your friend has an incomplete view of the game
THE SUMMER SALES ARE HERE!
Super Lesbian Animal RPG is currently 25% off on Steam and itch.io until July 13th, 2023! Now’s the perfect time to explore the Sapphire Islands with Melody and friends.
Um maybe a weird question but would yall like to be poked about fanart and lets plays and stuff that people make? For Pride Month I did a video a day, and for the finale I have a super long episode that stretches from the start of the game to when we find Jodie. (I was a bit dumb at one point and didnt realize you could get past something without her
Was just wondering if youd like to be told when it's out :D

To be honest, I’m not able to keep up with all the let’s plays and streams people have been doing because there are so many of them - although this is definitely a good problem to have
Regardless, if you’d like us to see something, tag it with #slarpg here on Tumblr or over on Twitter!
Howdy! I just started playing slarpg yesterday, got about 2 hours in. It's really fun and I love the characters and humor, so I've got two questions: what was the inspiration behind Holly (she's my favorite character) and also, is there a way to make the game full screen? I play on pc and I can't seem to find a setting for that. Thanks for making such an awesome game, can't wait to play more of it!
The inspiration for Holly was that Anthony decided to try and design some NPCs to help me out on the game and he knew that the easiest way to win me over would be to design a large dog woman. It’s also just fun to subvert tropes, so having the healer of the Paladin Brigade also be the team’s big bruiser who likes wrestling was an idea I quickly latched onto.
As for fullscreen mode (or the closest approximation of fullscreen mode I could get for this iteration of RPG Maker): as explained at the start of the game, you can press F5 to go fullscreen and press F6 to toggle how big the actual game display is. Unless you have a 4K monitor I generally don’t recommend maximizing the display size due to the way the pixels will become distorted, but the 2X zoom level works well on 1080p-ish screens.
Was the heavy jelly added all at once (like the scene with her sculpting, the slime room, and the actual boss) or was it just you during development constantly going “you know what would be funny”

The latter.
It started with the Slime Room. The Neon Labyrinth was the last major obstacle in the way of the big Acts I and II Alpha at the end of 2020, and there was an optional path in the back half of the dungeon that I needed to come up with something for. Burnt out on doing actual level design, I instead quickly made some NPC sprites for the Helper Jelly (an enemy I’d already designed and was fond of) and filled a room with them as a joke.
After that, since I already had the Helper Jelly sprites, I just kept reusing them in different situations. I thought it would be funny if there was one specific Helper Jelly who had something of a character arc running through the game, but you’re only catching these brief glimpses of what she’s up to.
